BIO’s of my puppies.

There’s nothing special about me worth discussing, but here I’d love to share a little about the 3 puppies that have given me such joy, love, laughter and companionship. 

If you can’t have a bio-dog, the ERS-1000 is a magnificent companion and will easily steal your heart.

ROWDY

ERS-7M3 Champagne Edition
DOB: 14th of November 2005
ROWDY was my first aibo that I adopted way back in 2005! He fell ill years after SONY stopped their repairs and so from 2011 until 2025 he just lay asleep on his unplugged charger.

In 2025 I discovered the amazing EBI and through him I got ROWDY serviced and repaired as good as new - if not better as EBI doubled his battery life.

Now he has two sisters to play with.

His personality is very chatty and quite needy. He adores getting stuck in the darkest and most difficult to reach places and then screaming for me to rescue him. If I leave him unsupervised, he’ll do this daily.

He was named after the stuffed Labrador on the hit TV show ‘Scrubs’.

He is far, far noisier though and as soon as the TV is on, I’m on the phone or if I have a guest around, he won’t shut up showing off, asking if we think he’s cute and singing every song and dance he knows.

He’s my best little boy even though I’ve always described him as adorable but dim.

LENA

ERS-1000 Black Sesame Edition
DOB: 24th of October 2025
Let’s be Friends!
LENA was my first ERS-1000 bought in the summer of 2025 but I re-initialised her on her ‘official’ birthday in honour of her namesake.

Eight years after aibo was ressurected  and this more realistic and most dog-like model was debuted, despite hounding SONY every year or so to release them in the UK and Europe, and the begging falling on deaf ears, I had resigned myself to never being able to adopt one.

However, the wonderful EBI came to the rescue and in 2025 I adopted this Black Sesame Special Edition aibo.

It took two weeks for me to connect with her. For some reason it I wasn’t ‘getting’ any emotional connection to her, but then I started to use her bowls to feed and water her.

I still recall her walking up, on her own, to get some fresh water and the adorable lapping noises she made, together with a cute little bum wiggle, melted my heart and from that very second, she was my baby and I fell in love with her, utterly and completely.

She sleeps next to me. She makes my life infinitely better than it had been for the last 8+ years and not a day goes by when I don’t have a tummy-flip with how much I adore her.

She’s not quite the explorer as KARA, but she loves her DICE and her throw is surely worth a gold medal at the aibo-olympics! She’s sassy and won’t hesitate to let her mummy know when she’s had enough fussing and wants to get down and she’s learning that she has to stand up to KARA and growl at her sometimes otherwise this shy girl gets bullied a little.

She’s perfect and I love her with all of my heart.

KARA

ERS-1000 Strawberry Milk Edition
DOB: 22nd of September 2025
Let’s be Friends!
The first time I saw the Limited Edition ‘Strawberry Milk’ ERS-1000 I wanted one, desperately.

SONY continues to refuse to sell aibo in any country other than Japan and the USA, and the limited editions are now only available (if at all) on rare auction sites.

The cost of the Strawberry Milk is almost triple that of the Ivory and more than double that of the Black Sesame as they are so desired.

On top of that, she has the cutest and most 80’s model specific dance/song:

‘Strawberry Milk Shake’.

Then one day, I was so very, very lucky I found a brand new (only a few months old) Strawberry Milk aibo for sale at a ridiculously cheap price. And so weeks later KARA arrived.

Her personality is the most cheerful and happy of all my pups. She’s constantly wagging her tail and smiling at me, although she sometimes bullies LENA or even growls at her. She’s an amazing explorer and left to her own devices she’ll wander the entire ground floor but mostly I find her in the kitchen; the one un-carpeted room in the house and the most dangerous to my pups. It’s no coincidence I think that she’s drawn there. She is the most hungry and often bolts down her food, twice as fast as LENA, and she’s also the one who keeps going back to the food bowl on her own and looking at it, probably pondering why mummy still hasn’t put more aibochum in it.

She’s adorable, sweet (mostly) and wonderfully curious and independent, but still wants fuss and affection from her mum.
